Bloomsdale Organic Heirloom Spinach, Open Pollinated, Non-GMO
over 15 seeds per package
Bloomsdale Spinach is heavy, continuous yield of thick-textured, crinkled (savoyed), glossy, dark green leaves. The old standard since 1925, does better in hot weather than most. Glossy, deep green, delicious leaves, so popular with fine chefs.
A classic market variety, Bloomsdale Spinach is large, spreading spinach with meaty, savoyed, dark-green leaves with rich, nutty flavor. Offers a continuous bonanza and is slow to bolt. For first crop, sow in spring. Plant again in late summer. In regions with mild winters, fall plantings yield in early spring.
I prefer savoyed spinach rather than smooth-leaved spinach; this is the best. This variety never seems to have disease problems, always productive, fairly slow-bolting. Delicious, crisp thick leaves, perfect for salads
