Box Car Willie Tomato seeds make a great choice if you're looking to grow tomatoes with some good old-fashioned flavor.
This prolific heirloom tomato variety is better than most of todays tomato hybrids. The size of the rounded red fruits of the Box Car Willie tomato are roughly 12-18 oz. The indeterminate vines of Box Car Willie produce excellent, crack-free, disease tolerant tomatoes with a sweet, yet tart flavor.

You can sow seeds indoors or direct sow when all danger of freezing has past. Tomatoes are sensitive to freezing temperatures, so wait to transplant outdoors until the soil is warm.

I have many favorites and this is one of them. They are delicious and great in garden salads, salsas and cooking. The plants are very productive.

Tomatoes need at least 6 to 8 hours of sun to bring out their best flavors. You will need to stake, trellis, or cage most tomato plants to keep them off the ground. Decide on a support plan before you set out your plants, then add that support directly after planting.
