Brandywine Tomato Seeds, Organic – Open Pollinated, Non-GMO
15 seeds per package

The original Brandywine introduced by Johnson and Stokes in 1889 from seeds they received from a customer in Ohio. Named after Brandywine Creek in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Large vines produce deep red 8-12 ounce fruits. Excellent flavor. Very productive. Indeterminate, 80 days from transplant.

You can sow seeds indoors or direct sow when all danger of freezing has past. Tomatoes are sensitive to freezing temperatures, so wait to transplant outdoors until the soil is warm.

Start Indoors: 6 weeks before last frost
Full Sun
Plant seed: ¼" deep
Germination: 7-14 Days
Plant Outdoors: 24-36” Apart
Support: Cage, stake, or trellis
Indeterminate

These are one of my favorite tomatoes. They are medium sized and easier to grow than the larger beefsteak varieties as they are less sensitive to changing water and weather conditions. They are delicious and are great for sandwiches, salsa and cooking. The plants are very productive.

Tomatoes need at least 6 to 8 hours of sun to bring out their best flavors. You will need to stake, trellis, or cage most tomato plants to keep them off the ground. Decide on a support plan before you set out your plants, then add that support directly after planting.

Companion Plants- herbs; borage, basil, dill, mint, sage, fennel, cilantro,  parsley,  chives, thyme, oregano. Flowers; marigold, nasturtium.
