Lady’s Mantle Herb Seeds, (Alchemilla mollis) or Bear’s Foot, Perennial

Minimum 25 seeds per package.

If you want to add some cottage-style charm to your garden, plant lady's mantle. Lady's mantle (Alchemilla mollis) is a clumping, mounding perennial with large circular, scallop-edged leaves. It is often grouped in clusters as a ground cover for both sunny and shady areas, and besides being beautiful in gardens, it is also used in making lotions and soaps. The sparse chartreuse flowers that appear in clusters in late spring are not particularly showy, but the foliage looks good all season.

Lady's Mantle has a wide variety of herbal medicinal uses, it is considered the Woman's Herb.  Research the many uses.  It is also used in making soap and lotion.

Lady's mantle grows extremely well in full sun to partial shade and will tolerate near-complete shade. In very hot climates, it will prefer some afternoon shade to avoid sunscald on the leaves.

The plant is bushy and makes an excellent border or edging plant.

Sow Lady's Mantle seeds in the early spring indoors, 6 - 8 weeks before last frost. A cold treatment, placing the seeds in dampened sand or peat moss, and placing in the refrigerator for 3 - 4 weeks prior to sowing has been found beneficial to germination. After removing the flower seeds from the refrigerator, use starter trays and sterile potting mix. Press the flower seeds into the soil and cover no more than 1/8 inch. Transplant the Lady's Mantle seedlings outdoors after danger of frost has passed.

The plant should be sheared back after blooming to rejuvenate the leaves to make the clump neat and tidy for the rest of the growing season. Lady's Mantle is an easy-care perennial grown from flower seeds that does well in sun or shade. It may be divided in spring or early fall. It will self-seed and drop its own flower seeds. If this is not desired, deadhead spent blooms.
