Lemon Queen Sunflower (Helianthus Annuus)
Branching, not single stem.
Minimum 30 Seeds per package.
This Sunflower is so very pretty, a soft yellow color that seems to glow! Grown from Lemon Queen Sunflower seeds, this annual produces blooms that measure 6 - 10 inches in diameter. It grows a single stalk and then begins to send out side shoots with blooms that seem to be a bit smaller than the first bloom.
They are well-branched and develop new blooms over a long season giving a continuous supply for fresh arrangements. Or leave them in the garden to attract pollinators and look oh so pretty.
They do best by being spaced 12” -18” apart.

I recommend direct sowing in garden beds, along fence line, just off the patio area that gets full sun. Depending on your weather sunflowers do like to be watered. In Texas I water them every day and when the heat gets to 100, I water them twice a day. If you notice the leaves starting to turn yellow change your watering schedule to less.
HARVEST: Flowers can be harvested tight, when color first shows, or when almost completely open, depending on your market and preferred use. Dried - Flowers are completely open.
Soil Requirements: Light, well-drained soil. Excessive nitrogen may cause plants to grow too vigorously with abnormal flower shapes.
Note: Flower size and stem diameter are controlled by plant spacing, temperature, soil type, and day length. For early and late season production, select varieties that are day-length neutral or are noted as suitable for flowering under short days.
Uses: Excellent cut flower. These are stunning sunflowers, easy to grow, and at the right height to enjoy in the garden or in cut flower arrangements.
