Each year, your landscape can be bathed in these lovely annuals from South Africa. Grow Venidium seeds for a mass display of long-lasting color and beauty. Commonly known as Cape Daisy, these flowers are excellent for cutting, and beneficial insects and birds are very attracted to them. The blooms are 3 - 4 inches across with dark markings. Venidium Cape Daisy plants are especially dramatic when grown in masses.
Start Venidium seeds indoors in late winter for the earliest blooms. For areas with a longer bloom season, prepare a weed free seedbed outdoors, and sow the seeds directly once frost danger has passed. Thin the Cape Daisy seedlings to 12 inches apart. Venidium white monarch flowers are easy to grow and maintain. Provide full sun, regular water, fertile, well-draining soil, and these flowers will not disappoint you. Care includes deadheading the spent blooms to promote continual flowering. Cape Daisy may grow as a perennial in zones 10 and 11.
