Collection: Microgreens

You can grow microgreens year round. They are considered a Superfood that provides a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Microgreens are young seedlings of edible vegetables and herbs. They can be harvested from a week to ten days. There are many ways to consume microgreens; raw, soups, salads, baked breads, smoothies, etc. Some taste like spices, some sweet and some earthy.

You probably have everything you need to start growing microgreens. You can use trays or pots and they can be grown in your home on a sunny warm windowsill or in a greenhouse.  If grown on a larger scale than a windowsill you will need to have microgreen trays with covers, heat mats, grow lights, circulation fans, plant stands, and a good potting medium/soil.

You can start your microgreens the same way to start seeds in the spring. Follow the seed directions that come with your seeds but you will cover the soil in seed leaving very little space between the seeds. Remember your harvest is the greenery/seedlings, leaf and stem. Harvest time is usually when the seedlings get about 1" to 2" tall.
